2009 Annual Charity Golf Tournament
The 14th Annual Maritime Electric Charity Golf Tournament was held on Friday, June 5, 2009, at Fox Meadow Golf Course and was a resounding success raising $30,000 for four Island charities. The tournament was organized by Maritime Electric employee volunteers and played host to 136 golfers.

2009 Canada Games
Maritime Electric donated $50,000 to Island athletes and the 2009 Canada Games. Maritime Electric is proud to be one of the five Friends of the Games Sponsors who contributed a combined $250,000 to this national multi-sport and cultural event. Kids Count - The Learning Fund
The Maritime Electric Environmental Studies Grant Program began in 2006.
With this grant program, Maritime Electric has donated ten thousand dollars in the past two years to Kids Count – The Learning Fund in support of Environmental Studies Programs and projects within Island schools.
