Trees for Life Application Form
Each September, Maritime Electric employees volunteer to plant trees at Island schools, parks and communities as part of our Trees for Life program. The program began in 2019 and since then, employees have worked together to plant hundreds of trees across the Island.
If you are interested in having trees donated and planted at your school or in your community, please complete the application form below. What to Expect on Planting Day
On the day of planting, a few Maritime Electric employees will arrive in the morning to begin setting up. We bring everything we need with us, however we do require applicants supply access to a water source outside through an exterior hose for watering the trees. Mid-morning, the trees will be delivered by the nursery and mulch will arrive in a large vegetation management truck.
Around lunch time, approximately 30 Maritime Electric volunteers will arrive at the planting site. We start with a quick tree planting orientation to ensure the trees have the best chance at establishing in their new home. Once we finish planting the trees, we will tidy up and leave the property as it was when we arrived. Please note we will have a photographer with us taking photos of the event.
