Maritime Electric Company, Limited is seeking candidates for the position of Infrastructure Support Technician. 

Maritime Electric is dedicated to providing superior customer service to its customers on Prince Edward Island. Reporting to the Manager, IT Infrastructure and Development, this position is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing IT systems and networks. Proficient in hardware/software installation, server administration and user support. Ensures seamless operations and security of infrastructure to meet organizational needs.

A diploma in Computer Networking or a related computer discipline is required. Preference will be given to candidates with training and 1 to 2 years of working experience.

Primary duties include but are not limited to:

• Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software components within the IT/OT infrastructure.
• Monitor systems performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure functionality of servers, networks, and infrastructure components.
• Assist with implementation and maintenance of security solutions such as firewalls, endpoint detection and response software and access controls to safeguard the integrity of the infrastructure.
• Collaborate with other departments to plan and implement infrastructure upgrades and expansions within the IT/OT.
• Assist the Network Administrators in ensuring the security and integrity of both IT/OT networks by actively participating in patch management activities and constructing thorough investigations into potential vulnerabilities.

The ability to work within a team environment while at the same time be able to prioritize and execute their own work will be important for success and advancement opportunities. 

Participation in the Department’s evening and weekend on-call schedule is a condition of employment for this position.

This position offers a competitive and comprehensive compensation and benefits package. The pay range for this position is between $62,000 and $73,000 per annum.
